To dial a Mexican number from the U.S. or Canada, follow these steps:
- Begin with the exit code, 011, if you’re dialing from a landline, or simply enter + if you’re using a mobile phone.
- Add Mexico’s country code: 52.
- Enter the 10-digit Mexican phone number (area code + number). Example: 998 555 5555 (Cancun number).
In summary, the format would look like: 011 52 998 555 5555.
Calling the U.S. or Canada from Mexico
To call a U.S. or Canadian number from Mexico:
- Dial the exit code 00.
- Add the U.S./Canada country code: 1.
- Dial the 10-digit phone number.
Toll-Free Numbers
To dial U.S. or Canadian toll-free numbers from Mexico, you’ll need to substitute certain numbers. Note that these calls are not toll-free, and a fee will be charged.
